An island of green in a see of forest, and a monastery on the shore of a lake full with water lilies
Ideal for a walk by foot or by bike in the forest, near the water, for the week-end.
Must see the "Sf. Nicolae" church of the old Balteni hermitage, at the villige entrance to the right.
How to get there?
By car, on DN1 from Bucharest to Tancabesti (30 Km), then left at the road sign to Peris. Go 3 km on this road until you reach the village then make a right turn towards Balteni, another 3km on a road in the forest. In the end you reach Balteni, in a large opening in the forest, near the lake.
